So many times the best things happen unplanned. Hana had come down to Cancun to shoot the summer collection and we had an extra day before we started. I wanted to do an extension of Spring with more fishnet and spiral shell styles and all I knew was that I wanted something minimal and sexy with island vibes.
Our make-up artist Tania, who lives in Cancun and goes to the best nature places suggested Isla Blanca. Isla Blanca is the very tip of Cancun where the ocean and the lagoon connect and is pretty remote. Sounded perfect, we hooked up with British model and traveller Rosie Meyer who at the time was in Playa Del Carmen. We headed over there with almost no props (something extremely rare for me, the prop queen!) and with an idea of Blue Lagoon meets Mad Max with a touch of Henrik Purienne.
When we got there we found a wrecked catamaran on the sand, old cars and campers, sticks, coconuts and shells. The setting was so perfect that the story wrote itself: a hot traveling sailor shipwrecked on a beautiful island starts exploring and making sexy outfits from nets and shells and coconuts.
